Overview

A luxury rental product built for customers who expect clarity, speed, and service at every step.

Elite Wheels is a mobile-first luxury car rental concept for travelers, executives, entertainers, and enthusiasts who want more than a standard booking flow.

The product explores how a rental app can feel premium without becoming complicated. The experience centers on curated vehicles, transparent availability, flexible booking options, add-on services, and concierge support that fits high-expectation use cases.

The goal was to move beyond a basic inventory-and-checkout model and design an experience that reflects the confidence, polish, and control customers associate with luxury service.

Problem

Luxury car rental customers are often forced through ordinary rental experiences.

Many rental platforms treat premium vehicles like another inventory category. Users may find exciting cars, but the surrounding experience can feel fragmented, unclear, or impersonal.

For customers booking a luxury vehicle for business, travel, events, or creative work, small uncertainties become major friction points: vehicle condition, availability, delivery timing, privacy, pricing, and special requests all matter.

How might we design a luxury car rental experience that feels curated, transparent, flexible, and worthy of the vehicles being booked?
Deeper process Design process, user research, competitive analysis, and supporting artifacts.

Research

Three user groups shaped the product direction.

The concept was guided by personas with different premium rental motivations. Each needed a high-end vehicle, but their service expectations, risks, and decision criteria were not the same.

The Business Executive

A busy corporate leader who needs an efficient, reliable rental service that fits into a tight schedule.

  • Needs minimal booking steps and guaranteed availability.
  • Worries about delays, inconsistent service, and unclear logistics.
  • Benefits from calendar sync, automated reminders, and concierge support.
The Award-Winning Actress

A high-profile customer preparing for an event and needing a ride that matches the moment.

  • Needs privacy, white-glove treatment, and standout vehicle options.
  • Worries about exposure, tight timing, and inconsistent service details.
  • Benefits from discreet pickup, direct concierge, and customizable add-ons.
The Creative Musician

An artist using the vehicle as both transportation and a bold visual asset for creative work.

  • Needs iconic vehicles, flexible rentals, and project-based options.
  • Worries about fast turnaround, budget fit, and unusual rental requests.
  • Benefits from creative packages, short-term pricing, and customization options.

Competitive Analysis

The market showed a gap between broad access and truly premium service.

Turo

Turo offers a wide peer-to-peer selection and flexible rental durations, but vehicle quality, support, and luxury consistency can vary significantly.

Hertz Dream Collection

Hertz provides brand trust and premium vehicles, but policies can feel rigid and the digital experience can feel less modern.

Opportunity

There is room for a platform that combines curated high-end inventory with polished digital flows, flexible service options, and concierge-level support.

Risk

The luxury market has very little tolerance for uncertainty. Any confusing step can reduce trust before the customer reaches checkout.

Solution

A curated booking experience with premium controls built into the flow.

Elite Wheels turns the rental journey into a guided premium experience. Users can browse a curated fleet, review availability, select pickup or delivery, add service upgrades, and confirm details without feeling dropped into a generic checkout process.

Final Experience

The final interface balances luxury styling with practical booking clarity.

The visual system uses a restrained black, white, and gold direction to signal premium service while keeping the core tasks easy to scan.

Large product imagery gives the vehicles presence, while simple forms, calendar views, map-based location context, and clear action buttons keep the booking flow grounded.

Expected Impact

A more confident path from desire to reservation.

Elite Wheels reframes car rental as a premium service journey rather than a transactional checkout.

The experience aims to:

  • Reduce friction in finding and reserving high-end vehicles.
  • Make pricing, timing, and service expectations easier to understand.
  • Support executive, event, travel, and creative use cases within one flow.
  • Build trust through polished presentation and concierge-ready service options.

Reflection

What I learned.

This project strengthened my ability to translate a brand expectation into product decisions. Luxury was not only a visual style; it shaped how much clarity, control, support, and reassurance the interface needed to provide.

It also challenged me to think about different types of premium users and design a single rental experience flexible enough to support business travel, public events, and creative projects.

Elite Wheels became an exercise in making a high-end service feel calm, clear, and ready for the moment it is needed.
